Comeback

Pick what’s worth losing sleep over — we’ll wake you when it gets close.

Comeback is a night-owl’s sports tracker. The premise is simple: you don’t want to stay up for a blowout, but you don’t want to miss the game that claws its way back from the dead either. So instead of watching, you set a line and go to sleep. Comeback watches the margin for you and only wakes you when something is genuinely worth waking up for.

The cleverness is in what counts as worth it. You set a wake line — a points spread, a run margin, an F1 gap — and the app fires only on a real comeback crossing: when the lead was bigger than your line and then closed to it. A game that was tight from the opening whistle never trips the alarm, because nothing actually came back. It’s the difference between a notification and a reason.

Under the hood it’s a React and TypeScript app served by a single Cloudflare Worker that handles the SPA, the polling API, and the cron that checks live margins through the night. Web Push delivers the alarm to a sleeping phone. The whole thing rides on the Morgpork design system — dark-first, one hard colour pair, sharp corners, Athletics throughout — so it looks like it belongs to the same family as everything else here.
