Open Saver is an early placeholder with a direction but not yet a defined product. The space it occupies: NZ open banking, savings optimisation, and the question of whether there’s a useful tool to be built that helps people make better use of their money using the account data that Akahu makes accessible.
Akahu is the NZ open banking layer — it provides read access to bank account data with user consent. It’s already used in Houseparty for rent and bill tracking. Open Saver is thinking about the savings side of the same infrastructure: where is your money sitting, what is it earning, and is there a better place for it. The concept is forming. The product isn’t defined yet.
